You asked for it, so we did it. After increasing pressure in recent years we introduced a kids' race in 2010. 're doing it. For the first time Karapoti will include a kids event.

The "Karapoti Kids Klassic" is designed as an adventurous intro to mountain biking for Kids aged 5 to 12 years. The course is based at Karapoti Park like the rest of the event. The route will on safe and scenic entry level tracks, but include some fun and filthy stuff like stream crossing, lots of mud and the odd surprise along the way. Parents are welcome to ride with their child.

Please note that the 2010 Kids' Klassic was an experiment of sorts. While it was well received we are currently trying to gain access to more land to make the Kids' Klassic more adventurous, but no less safe and acheivable. The course will be at least 5k. A Map will be posted when the course is finalised.

The concept here is participation. It is not a race and there are no merit awards for placings. Every finisher receives a medal and every 10th finisher will win a spot prize.

The Kids' Klassic will be limited to the first 100 entries. Every finisher gets a medal, so come on, dare your kids to challenge themselves!
